The first generation Audi S5 Coupé of 2007 came was powered by a 354 hp 4.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 until facelift time in 2011. Then the Coupé adopted the more economical 333 hp supercharged 3.0 litre V6 already introduced on the S5 Cabrio and Sportback in 2009.
The recently launched all-new second generation S5 retains the 3.0 litre V6 formula, but supercharging has given way to turbocharging. The new motor boasts the same 354 hp as the original V8 engine, and this is underpinned by a healthy 500 Nm of torque.
Chiptuning specialists, SPEED-BUSTER, consider this a good starting point, and their Multichannel Chiptuning-Box for the new S5 provides a power jump of 66 hp to 420 hp, with torque up by 95 Nm to 595 Nm. Using the latest microprocessor technology the Box processes data from the Audi sensors in real time, modifies it and sends it on to the factory ECU for implementation.
Beyond the improved power and torque, the optimised parameters provided by the Chiptuning-Box also improve overall engine efficiency, so that a reduction in fuel consumption of up to 1.0 L/100 km becomes possible in normal driving.
The SPEED-BUSTER-Chiptuning-Box features easy Plug-and-Play installation using a bespoke wiring harness with OE connectors. A two-year engine warranty means the S5 driver can enjoy the extra performance without worry. The SPEED-BUSTER Chiptuning-Box costs 699.00 euro.
